Your Top Countries with bad eBay experiences

Hi guys.

First of all, this is not meant to label a country as bad or the people there being awful persons.

After getting another non-received eBay claim from a person living in a country I'm tired to send and getting non-received claims (false or not), I will, for the first time, block buyers from that country... Or at least, making them pay registered shipping.

I know I'm not alone with these bad experiences, so I would like to know what countries you have more problems with... My top 3 is very simple and all have +/- the same problems for me: Brazil, Mexico & Greece.

The worst problems I had was actually not from any of those 3 countries, but from a very known one: United Kingdom... But when comparing non-received claims ratio, UK is probably 1 or 2%, while my top 3 is probably 10x higher.

EDIT: Ok, I'm tired of this bullshit... Now another idiot opens a case for not received item... And I was so dumb that I didn't realize it was the SAME fuckin' guy who bought from me with two different accounts... This is tooooo suspicious and I've never been wrong about these situations.

So screw this, you all need to be on alert for this guy: mexbuyer95 & ricma.16 are both usernames he used to buy from me, but surely he has others... But all probably have the same paypal address and I'll not give it away, but will tell his name, which is similar to the PP address: Julian Valdés, from Mexico... Don't check by the address, because he uses different names to receive the letters, check by the "Buyer" in your paypal purchase mail.

Mexico is definitely out for me, too much scammers for my taste... Sorry mexican fellows who are good people, but as you know, the righteous pays for the sinner... this was not the only one.

Thinking about E-Bay, I had some problems in past (and present) with some countries.. UK is worst but I don't think is due to sellers but due to their stupid Ebay postage services. They just lost an album bought about Espana82, after 40 days ebay/paypal refund to me ... really don't know where hell is the package ... and this is 3rd time with UK! By the way ... the new service is much expensive so double really bad service ...

With South America I think (until now) I was very lucky, any problem except some big delays due to italian customers. Also from Mexico never had problems, I'm waiting for a package ... so maybe I will change my mind soon :)

Honestly I prefer to swap than buy (or sell) items worldwide, but is not so easy ... and is not so easy to find collectors serious even I've found severals, mainly thank to this forum :)

So at the end I prefer to tell my double TOP, worst and best. I consider also country where I swap or I buy many times and NOT with same person

sellers (items different from what I bought .. quality, not complete, etc)
worst:
ITALY (yes.. seems funny but it is...)
GERMANY
ARGENTINA
best:
GERMANY
PERU
EX-JUGOSLAVIA (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, etc)

postage disasters (really late packages, no info or package never arrived)
UK
CHILE
ITALY (inside the country or many times package from abroad stopped somewhere for weeks)

postage good
BRASIL
FRANCE
GERMANY

of course is not a rule and as Carlos wrote, there is nothing against single collectors or people in general!

Guys, its very important subject.

I never have problems on eBay. One times Poste Italiane lost my package with many items :(

From my swap from around the world I have few problems.

Europe: Always very fast I recived letters. I NEVER like Polish Customs. Letters from all Ukraine and Russia was open two times.

Africa: Very bad Tunisia. First album lost. I mostly recived from South Africa Republic the fasters! Only 7 days waiting!

Asia: From Hong Kong delivered on 5 days. And from small Macao normal letter delivered on 20 days.

South America: I get from Usa on 3 to 7 days. Very good. And Canada also very fast.
One and half month waiting from Honduras but arrived :)
And 30 days from Panama.

South America.
Very fast from Chile 15 to 20 days.
Lost letter from Ecuador.

My tottaly raiting:

Europe:
+ Germany
+Nordic area
+Portugal
+Serbia and Croatia
+France

-Russia

The neutral Poste Italiane and Netherlands

Africa
- Tunisia
+ South Africa

North America
+Usa and Canda
- Honduras

South America
+ Chile and Peru
- Ecuador.

Thanks for readding

The Best is German post - cheapest and most reliable.
The worst in old Europe is still Italy though they are improving.
Eastern Europe in general causes bad feelings - Romania is worst.
South America also always a risky game with their hard customs.

I agree with you , the German post office , the best and fastest in Europe . I have a question , if DHL is connected to the German Post ? Several times I got a registered letter from Germany and the track was written that the provider is DHL.

@Caniggia You're almost the contrary if what I usually see (except for Italy, postal services is not really that good and they charge like premium service).

My top 3 is for selling, since I'm always the one who loses both items and money... But there are different outcomes for those 3 when it's tracked postage: Greece always good when it's tracked, Brazil has a huuuuuge delay when it's tracked, Mexico never sent any, just small value stuff... Funny is that when I started selling, I was more afraid of Russia or China (no, it's not because they're "commies", it's from opinions I read previously), but never had any real problem with them... I still remember a russian guy claiming he didn't receive something, I've refunded him and one month later, he paid me again, saying he finally received it... Good guy indeed :) But my first problem with non-received items was with a chinese and that one I know for sure he was lying and found out he used other accounts to deceive more sellers (what people do for some lousy dollars).

Also have some good countries where I can send just by standard shipping and it's always good... In Europe, nordic countries for example, Germany too... Can't say the same for France, UK or Italy... Outside Europe, best ones for me are USA, Canada, Japan and Australia, mostly USA for their incredible good ratio (I would say less than 1% of loss).

As a buyer, never had many serious troubles, though from Germany, I had a serious argument with a stupid seller who sent me Adrenalyn boxes completely wrecked, just protected with a thin paper you use to wrap gifts or something... And in my first ebay buying experience in 2010, another german seller sent me Euro 2004 packets that had small incision behind, clearly to remove the best stickers and add easy ones... Seller sweared it wasn't him and sent other packets... Funny is that it's currently one of the largest german sellers these days ;)

Then of course I have other complaints about damaged items, not received or just huge delays, but can't recall anything really serious.

@Kacper13 Portugal has a great postal service, a bit inferior since it became private and more expensive prices... Nordic countries are top notch.

Hmmm, Yes, I dont like South America. Many letters not delivered, but PROBABLY Brazil Post, is the fastest, in South America.

Yes, I had the same problem. Guy from Italy, in first message wrote, that we wanted buy 10, or 8, or 6, or 4, albums. And she, buy only 5 albums. I send the letter by Priority letter. I got 250 PLN on PayPal, from Payment, + Shipping cost 70 PLN

After 3 months, she open matter of not receiving albums, and I must send back money. At the time of the month , I was blocked on your account. There were 450 PLN . I closed the matter was only 250 PLN. User: Mayregina

And I was send cards, good protect to Russia, and Russia Customs, open letter, and cards arrived in bad condition. I will NEVER send to Russia.

Well, now I realized mexican buyer bought twice with 35 days difference from me and not some days, as I thought... So if this jerk didn't receive the first one, why did he buy again 35 days later, when it usually takes around 2-3 weeks to be delivered in Mexico? And that's why I probably send the second time, because it went more than a month and I thought he was satisfied with first time... Guess I was naive here, but he's been reported to ebay and I also told him in the case that I wasn't buying his non-received story anymore... Don't care if I receive a negative feedback, these guys need to be fought back.

A package I sent to Brazil two weeks ago arrived Tuesday... Really fast, like Kacper said, but guess what? Binder I sent was completely ripped on the side... Here's the video done by the buyer:

Anyway, Mexico is definitely out for me.

Kacper, I checked that username and ebay says it's not valid... Is it really that username or you're missing a letter or number?

One thing you can always check is feedback left from buyer to others... Always get suspicious when it has negatives left by him/her or with very few or none positive feedback.

No worries, he's a nice guy and I've even shared his video in my facebook page, so people see how dangerous are customs when handling our things.

That Meryregina has private feedback, which can be another suspicious thing about scammers.

Those Adrenalyn cards are really bent, what a disgrace... But I don't think those went through russian customs, probably it was during transportation or handled wrongly by mailman... Oh well :/
