OK, the tournament is just two months away, and the collection has started to arrive. Let's talk winners. Who do you think is the favorite to win the tournament?

I think this one will be wide open, I don't really see a lot of great teams. There are good teams but I feel we're missing a great team that history will remember still.

England would have a chance if their big players were in form but Saka, Palmer, Bellingham are all out of form at the same time. Foden has never done anything for England but still gets picked, Rashford always flatters to deceive too but he now plays for Barcelona so he's guaranteed to play. If Kane gets injured or isn't in form then we have absolutely no hope as you could see in the last one.

I would think France will be there but it all depends on the draw, some teams get lucky while on the other side you end up with Brazil/Argentina/France/Spain all knocking each other out etc.

I suspect that it's going to be an overlong, lacklustre tournament and it will also be a complete lottery. Too many poor teams playing in very hot conditions is going to lead to some awful games.

There will be endless shoot outs in the drawn out knockout stages, there will be shocks, which will unbalance the draw and some lucky team will meander through to the final having played nobody of any significance along the way.

I'm finding it really hard to work up any enthusiasm at all - it will be a test of viewer endurance. Fortunately a lot of the games will be in the early hours UK time so I can just watch the highlights in the morning.

Also guys - and please feel free to shoot me down here - I just don't see any way that Iran participates in the tournament.

Don't let Trump get his mitts on the trophy - if he does then nobody will get it back.

I also fear for the safety and welfare of the fans of the various nations competing, anything could happen.

I hope to god that everything works out, we get some decent football and the WC is remembered for the right reasons.

But I'm just not convinced it will be.

If you want me to pick a winner then I have a sneaking regard for France.

You guys worry too much. It will be a fine competition. I hope Portugal will reach the final and maybe will win it.

Spain as the best team with brilliant individuals and France with an incredible depth of squad as favourites. Then a group of tier 2 candidates with England (also an amazing squad but not sure about the defense), Portugal (huge squad, but Martinez should have gotten Belgium the 2018 world cup and failed) and Argentina (Messi's last dance). Tier 3 with Germany. Personally looking forward to how Brazil and Norway will do, well, and my home country Belgium of course, though 2018 will never occur again soon...

In my opinion, there will be a lot of surprises, considering the amount of random countries in the tournament. However, I see France having a very high chance of winning it, as they have a star-packed team full of world-class talents. But among the other huge teams, such as Spain, or Argentina, it will certainly be a very feisty and tough way throughout the tournament.

It will be one of the usual suspects.

Arg, Bra, Fra,Spa if they all avoid each till the semi final. That would be my final 4.

Dark horses for me are Ger, Por, Eng, Hol, Cro, Col. All good teams but not as the 4 above.

Here's a good one. Only 2 European team has won the world outside of Europe, Spain in 2010 and Germany in 2014.

With the excessive heat in all 3 hosting countries I can see a proper strong showing from the South American teams.

Group stage will be a farce with 7, 8 or even double digit wins for the big teams vs the newer smaller teams who are just happy to participate and get their millions from FIFA and rightly so.

Not only will the group stage be an (overlong) farce but the second round will be terrible as well. By the time we get to the end of it there will already have been 88 games played - some good teams will have been knocked out and some dross will be in the last 16. Some leading nations who get qualified from the first round early will play all their reserves in the last group games (and so they should).

More games played in very hot conditions means more penalty shoot outs in the second round and more major injuries to key players.

The games will also last for ever with water breaks and time outs and endless timewasting by lower ranked teams.

It aint going to be great - thank god most of the games are played in the early hours UK time so I won't have to watch them.

The conditions will favour the South American teams. Most European leagues are still going - these players are going to be bounced right out of the league season and straight into WC training camps - they are going to be knackered.
