Hahaha, I was just coming in to post this very thread.

So, yes. Will there be a sticker album for this league? I mean, it's a lot of teams. All of Europe in one album seems unlikely?

Maybe an album with teams of group A & B on double pages , Group C on just one page and Group D only badge and team photo..

Makes sense. But maybe A & B on double pages, and C & D on one page. Still will be pretty large album if it's made. But I hope. It is the only way to collect my home country of Bulgaria. We suck, so we can't qualify for Euro or World Cup.

Think it would be maximum A and B, plus some C division. I doubt that all teams will would be in an album.

Beside, this album will exchange Road to Euro, if they produce it.

Let's see how this goes... Have some doubts about the benefits of this league, but if this goes forward, I hope Panini will grab this to create a good album with ALL teams (though licensing will always be the main obstacle).

I was confused how Netherlands was still in group A (barely, but still is), so I checked how UEFA ranking is... Since it still counts 2014 World Cup and qualifyings (20%) and Netherlands was 3rd in it, plus a decent 2018 qualification (even though they were not qualified), it still gave them a small lead against Austria and Wales.

However, I still consider this UEFA system a rubbish one, when compared to FIFA... At least for me, giving a better score basically according to match outcome and goal difference seems just wrong, winning 7-0 against Gibraltar isn't more rewarding than winning 1-0 against Germany... The opponent strength should be considered, just like FIFA do (never though I would agree with FIFA on something).

first of all I hope Panini will do album and goodbye to "road to Euro", for same reason I hope will be an album similar to a national league, so all teams included, not best ones. Thinking to Calciatori albums, my wish could be: Group A with single sticker of players in action (to be different by standard Euro album), Group B double stickers like Serie B, Group C sticker of logo, team and top player, Group D only logo (also double sticker for 2 logos)

I think is could be a great opportunity for Panini to make a marvellous album

Of course is quiet impossible to put the correct players because during this tournament will change several times.. but it does a big matter, being an album much different than Euro or World Cup

So, groups are known now... Here's A (top seeded teams):

Group 1: Germany, France, Netherlands
Group 2: Belgium, Switzerland, Iceland
Group 3: Portugal, Italy, Poland
Group 4: Spain, England, Croatia

Group 1 is overkill, 4 not so far :p Group 2 not so appealing, I guess

@Caniggia looking for some revenge for not getting into WC?

Why not, but only instead of "Road to Euro 2020".
Note that with this new competition, the last 4 qualified teams for Euro 2020 will be known only in March 2020 after the playoffs. It seems very short to prepare the Panini album Euro 2020. It won't be ready before May, maybe later.

No problem for Panini.
They will publish an update sheet during the tournament..;-)

Panini will cash in on this tourney. Bet your money on it. They will do AXL & Stickers. Useless tournament imo.

I hope there will be an album, and also hope Caniggia’s vision will come true. Of course it literally means all European national teams. Well, if small ones at least get a badge and a team photo, it would worth it! How amazing would be to swap your Faroe badge double for a well-needed Azerbaijan logo? (No irony here):) What I would love to see in every tournament albums are jerseys, if we are talking about Calciatori. Think it would give an extra little spice to the soup.
And the tournament itself is controversial. Think to Ice-hockey. There are also divisions. In Division B teams fight for their lives to be promoted to the elite class. I read your posts, and they are mostly negatives about it. But, if I look at the mix where we are from, I can see fellow collectors from different nations -mostly from A or B divisions, and your teams have most probably regular appearance in tournaments. Myself, I can see an opportunity to ensure our place again instead of super boring friendlies. (What can Hungarian FA do? Invite some potentially beatable opponent who doesn’t draw crowd. Or invite a giant football power, who we might luckily and off-pressured beat...and most naturally everyone knows it was a friendly and our problems are not solved at all) And of course yes, you are also right to think that the already mixed up EC competition will be weaker. Because we will definately have a division D participant in 2020. But still... I truly believe it is an opportunity for C and D division teams.

The group stage will be over by the end of 2018. An option would be to have an album with the semifinalists from each league (16 teams) + maybe a selection of famous players (in action) from the other teams.

So any news/updates/rumours on this possible album?
It's UEFA, so I believe there will be no collection... Hopefully I'm wrong, but Panini just wants UEFA for the major tournaments and not some qualifying... At most, they will replace Road To for Nations League next year, but UEFA will demand more money and Panini will just stick with their FIFA rights.
