Topps Match Attax UEFA Champions League Road to Madrid 2019

Around mid-February, Topps will release an extra set for Champions League. First time for Topps in UCL.

However, it's not going to be the standard "buy boosters to get random cards and swap later", but instead, we'll have four different decks to collect, each with 54 predefined cards.



Each deck will be available for around 10€, I think.

Also, here in Portugal, there will be exclusive cards from Benfica, supposedly spread in those four boxes. Don't know if there's more exclusive teams in other countries.

No starter pack or binder for this. "Management issues", has been said to me.

Haha, no binder. Bloody amateurs. I will use an extra empty binder for this one with only 9 cards per page since it's a small update collection. Thanks for passing on the info Carlos.

Indeed, it's kinda upsetting and not understandable... Topps even release those useless Pro Collector Binders but refuses to sell for these Extra cards?

They still have a bit to make sense and release something to place the cards... 4-slot binders were good enough, I think.

If not, I'll probably use one of the megabinders I have with 60 sheets, that can hold up to 1080 cards... This way I'll have everything in one binder, but will have to move all cards from old to new binder

Can you guys outside the UK @dantzig etc. mind having a look at what cards you have for no.'s 334 and 337?? Ive got in a bit of a muddle working out which variations are from which edition!!!

Im hoping you guys will have 334 Vormer and 337 Schrivers while they are 1 number higher in the UK Edition??

334 Vormer and 337 Schrivers were error cards. They were only found in the starter packs. There's also number 333 (wrong 332), Mats Rits.

So in just non-uk starter packs i presume as uk ones released late so probably wont have error?

I had Andy, all three cards given away to a friend I'm actually missing the 334 one, only got the other two in starter packs I opened... But pretty sure you'll find people with them, they are not rare cards, very usual in starter packs.

Don't know about UK starters... If UK have also a pack of 25 cards (24 base + Neymar Limited), then Topps might have packed all at the same time.

Is anyone going to get these boxes and then break apart the set? I need some single cards but I don't want to but the 4 boxes as shipping to the USA would be expensive.

Edit: Nevermind, I bought the complete collection myself as shipping to the USA was a good price.

P.S.- Honestly, what the hell is wrong with you, spanish collectors? I've received some messages from 4/5 spanish dudes I don't know who can't make a proper offer! When you had those four exclusive cards, you sold them quite high and now can't do the same because now you're the ones buying? FFS!

makes the value of the 4 cards in Spain around a quarter of the Benfica cards and thats if the Spanish seller can actually get a bite at 16euros!!

First listing is mine Andy and I actually sold both for 60€ (I increased today because of Benfica requests and that auction)... Shouldn't advertise my sales here, but since some people might want it anyway and I can reduce prices if there's no ebay+paypal fees involved.

I understand people want to pay less as possible, but damn, the amount of messages (mostly on ebay) from unknown spanish collectors have been a bit too much... I want to help as much as possible and people know here I already did, but don't expect "friendly sales" if I don't even know you!

Sorry if my offer annoyed someone. I paid for the UCL update (road to madrid) less than 40€ (didn't know the price in Portugal), and I bought the exclusive set maybe too expensive but I paid 50€ for 2 sets (mine and one to swap). I can offer some other cards besides the exclusie set.
Again, I was not my intention to offend anyone, just trying to open a door for possible swaps. I have much more cards to offer. Just write me if you are interested and let see if we can swap something.

From the teams left out in first edition, Benfica is surely the most notorious one, along with Ajax... Too many times Benfica collectors have complained how their team is not featured and also how Porto got the update two years ago that Topps must have realized it was better to please them now, even if Benfica is already out (and maybe if Ajax was out too, they might have got an exclusive set... also depends on the fanbase).

@AndyR Topps has some strange decisions and mainly based on what partnerships they can get... That Vietnam set and the virtual album in chips in just few countries, the spanish exclusives cards only in cinemas.

Update set here in Portugal is rarer than I thought, probably just around 20% max of the stores have it and just one box for the stores who got it... I guess Topps didn't want to print much of Benfica cards, afraid it wouldn't sell.

Have to give Topps a bit of credit. It's not a bad update collection at all. The fact that you only need to buy all 4 boxes to get the full collection & the 4 new LE cards is to collectors advantage. No need to keep buying boxes to finish the binder.

Furthermore, the cards look much improved with well thought of sub-sets such as Group Stage MVP & UCL Centurion which were both designed with 2-3 poses of each player. Group Stage hero is nice as well.

The CL collection by Topps has progressively improved since the first season.
