Will be interesting to see how the EL inclusion will affect the CL.

My guess is a collection heavy on the big clubs from the CL & EL with disregard to smaller clubs from Belgium or Ukraine for example. Afterall, it is Topps.

Regarding Match Attax, which is this case, I think EL will affect CL for sure... Let's see, Topps never managed to add all 32 teams, leaving around 10 out of the set. If they add EL teams, even if it's just a page, I can't see how it'll not affect CL.

I have some good ideas about adding all 32 CL teams + best EL teams with even mentions to smaller teams, all fit in a 500-card set (if they end with the boring extra sets in tins) for the usual 30-sheet binder (540 cards). Problem is Topps is not creative enough for those ideas (not trying to be cocky, it's just true they are not creative like Panini was with Euro 2016 and 365 sets).

Adding the usual problems about teams/players licensing + time constraints to create a proper complete set, I'm not too hyped about the EL addition... Remember we'll just have the full participants list in both CL and EL by the end of August, maybe too late for Topps to add the last qualified teams and close the set to print, pack and distribute.

I don't think they will go for 540 cards, they are not creative enough, agree.
They will do another 22 teams from the CL then add maybe 6-10 teams from the EL.
The creativity part in terms of sub-sets & card design has improved year after year for their CL collection, credit where it's due but it will be a challange with the EL added this season.
Looking forward to a Liverpool special 18 card set like they did for RM the last 3 years, it will look good with my Crystal set. ;)

I expect the EL is added simply to allow them top include Manchester United, Arsenal and Wolves, doubt any others. It will be very much a UK based collection with the addition of the usual "big" clubs from Europe. Ajax will be the really interesting one - did not make last year's collection yet got to the semi finals.

Again the same subsets to make us buy four different tins... I preferred more qualified teams instead of those cards, they don't have any real purpose for the set.

The scam of G/S/B LE is back on, piss off Topps.
Why, just why

This is a proper design and no mention of Europa League so are we having 2 different collections??
Probably the subsets inside megatins are just for CL teams. But mini-tin also don't mention anything from EL, maybe again just cards for CL teams.

Let's wait for more news, Topps is showing all kinds of pictures but with no description.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We get it Topps, you are improving general design, yes yes, congratulations. Now how about improving the set itself? You know, adding more CL teams, make sure it's a real CL set and not just 20 out of 32 teams.

You sure english don't love GSB scam after all? Because now that EPL is lost, they will shove CL by force into english buyers and we get again the GSB.

In the description of the mini tins it says G/S or Bronze LE is included which means it's back on again.
As you said they lost the PL to Panini so they return with the awful unpopular G/S/B.
Sorry if I sound like a broken record everybody.

Topps released something new again, now about the European Super Cup, but they don't even tell the basic:

Anyone have more info about this?

So that's new season design... don't like it to be honest, too many space for those stats, player's picture look tiny. I prefer last year way better.

Agreed, stats too big and player too small. The rest is actually good enough.

And it looks like the player cards will be the same that will come out later in the main CL set... So why bother buying those? For the Super Cup card? Yeah right.

Some images of the mega tins exclusive cards, shared on Topps twitter acount. Same design as the base cards but with different background colour. The design, as I said before, it's nothing special for me, standard.

Those are awfully designed cards.

The font of the players attributes is so large on the left hand side of the card it takes away from the player picture which is too small. Why not make the player picture bigger. That's what we are paying our hard money for. Not stupid meaningless attributes.

Topps at their best once again ruining another new collection.
Very soon they won't have any football collection rights & end up releasing their useless "ghost shirt" 101 rubbish.

On Topps website you can see the four Limited Editions that will come out in the Mega Tins, same design as the base cards, very disappointing.

PS: The collection will be out in just 10 days, 29th August.
