Topps Match Attax EXTRA / Champions + Europa League 2019/20

Hello! I have just started to get back into sports card collecting, and while I am awaiting a shipment of USA cards I thought I would dip my toes back into match Attax. Here are my thoughts on the starter pack. Enjoy!

Opened today some stuff from this (finally released in Portugal) and let me tell you, Topps seriously need to pay much more attention, some major mistakes here!

I'm not going to even bother about the editorial choices, like Weigl still in Borussia, Ajax well featured after they bombed out from CL or just one lousy card from Benfica. Pretty sure they completed the checklist even before the group stage has been completed, when Ajax still had good chances (and of course, Weigl was not in Benfica yet).

But forgetting to add the special CL cards from Away Kits and Super Strikers (or Superstar Strikers, as they call it in the cards), that is very, very serious! Even more serious is that they are selling the 32 cards ONLY in their website, which forces me to pay, at least, 5€ for shipping! Topps say that it will be available also in stores, but they should have been selling NOW and not in the future (if it really happens anyway!)... This will obviously also lead to some buying these AK and SS packs in bulks.

There's no warning too about these cards not available in packs. A stain in Topps reputation.

Cards themselves are not bad, same as original set. Like the Flashback cards, but the rest is more less the same. Standard 1€ price also helps people buying without complaining much. With around two boxes you can complete almost all set (including swaps).

All the Away Kit & Superstar Strikers cards are included in the German/Int'l edition. Am almost finished with both sub-sets after 2 boxes but you will need more than 2 boxes to finish everything, I guarantee you that. Super Boost shiny ones are tough to come by in 30 pack box, same goes for the MOM cards. You will need tins, Multi packs and blisters to finish.

Am almost finished with both sub-sets after 2 boxes but you will need more than 2 boxes to finish everything, I guarantee you that. Super Boost shiny ones are tough to come by in 30 pack box, same goes for the MOM cards. You will need tins, Multi packs and blisters to finish.

Yes, the German/Intl is different, checked now it doesn't have the EL cards... AK and SS cards are all base after all, thought they were like Superboost or MoM cards.

Rarest ones are supposed to be the 100 Club ones... 5 per box, so yes, almost impossible to complete with just two boxes.

If I knew UK had the same set we have here in Portugal/Spain, I would prefer to buy from Topps UK for the extra limiteds (we don't have Silver and Bronze)... Now almost all of the good deals are sold out... Typical Topps.

EDIT: Saw now that AK and SS cards to satisfy non-Intl requests are still in production! Topps, what the flying **** is wrong with you?!?!?!

Yes, the German/Intl is different, checked now it doesn't have the EL cards... AK and SS cards are all base after all, thought they were like Superboost or MoM cards.

Keep checking they always re-stock on the website. I finished one set of 100C for the UK edition with 1 box and a couple of tins. My German one am short of 2 after opening 2 boxes and a big tin, small tins and multi packs.
I actually like the fact there's only 5 Gold + Blue Salah unlike the UK one with S & B rubbish. You have to buy a full box just to get Mane Bronze. F*** that I will find it online somewhere. Also you need to buy different mags and offeres from topps Uk to get the rest of them. When will Topps learn?

There's different editions after all, UK vs Iberian have different cards in squad updates, between 51 to 75.

In the megatin I've opened, only got SU till 45... My guess is that in every tin, there's only SU compatible to all versions, until SU50?

Also, seems that in the international edition, there are two cards of the same player (SU10 = SU61 + SU11 = SU62).

Iberian Checklist has also a SU 60 before SU 58 and 59.
