Topps Match Attax Afghanistan Afghan Premier League 2013

As some may know, I recenly decided to clear some of the stuff from my collection. (full topic here)

While doing that I stumbled upon on one of the biggest gems I've ever had.

Topps Match Attax 2013 from Afghanistan.




Set contains 96 cards in total.

It was distributed only in a small series in Afghanistan and you could get few packs only when you buy a ticket for the match.

How the hell did I get across this?

Well, here goes a perk of writing about cards and stickers. One of them managers in Topps, thrilled with what I did with the site and how much patience went into this offered to send one of these, according to him only one box was left in Topps UK storage , they shipped the rest of the boxes to Afghanistan.

I made some photos while photographing it for the eBay, and just wanted to share this with you.

It's quite interesting story.

Cards are thinner than regular Match Attax.

You got the complete set from the box? 20 packs, 5 cards each?

It was 50 packs x 5 cards so 250 cards in total, only one complete set though

Saw the "20" there in the box, thought it was 20 packs... Still great though

I don't collect cards but I'm dying for reading the story of this collection : why they decided to make it, how they did it (pictures and so on), what was the purpose ? I just can suppose an executive at Topps has some relation with Afghanistan or something like that. This story deserves to be told !

I've had a full story on my email, but I deleted it obviously since I can't find it.
It was made as an official Afghan Premier League collection. Published to promote this league and it's players.
I got it even before they shipped it to Afghanistan, but Topps marketing manager at that time told me that few packs will be given away on each game when you buy the ticket.
It's still the rarest Match Attax series, rarer than Vietnamese or Indian.

I do believe you ! Maybe one of the rarest and most interesting item of all times for a cards collector !!
