  • Single Packets - 8 cards in each with 2 special cards guaranteed per packet;
  • Starter Pack - 2x Packets + Exclusive Packet (3 LE + 4 Tactic + Reward Card);

Main products are what usually Topps releases in their Match Attax products (aside the update and premium).

Hopefully Topps won't charge as Panini did, but I fear their normal packets will be 2€ for 8 cards (same price as Panini).

Out in March (certainly before the stickers).

Opened the first box today. Not a bad collection but nothing earth shattering at the same time.

Base card designs are nice and simple with matching colour coordination with the teams kits.

The Captain & hero are boring to say the least(lines, blocks, cirecles a 5 year can draw) but G Gem is nice and adds a bit of vibrancy to the team pages.

As for the Sub sets, some are good and some are bad.

Legends sig is beautifully done, so is the Black Edge, Ultimate & Chrome shield. Energy is the same design as MA.

On the other hand, Centurion & Golden Goalscorers are not very well thought of. Just plain and unimaginative.

If you can get past 4 big teams with no licenses and no team badges in the set which is a crime for any footy card collection & no Mbappe then you will like the set!

A very curious decision is having Oliver Kahn(hero) as #1 in the GERMANY page!
What happened to Nuer or even Ter Stegen? It can't be rights issue or because Nuer was injured? @Ole any ideas?

Box was good with only 9 doubles and they were all shiny cards. 279 cards out of 288 total is a very good start.
Pulled 5 legend sigs, 1 Chrome Shield & 2 Black Edge, 6 Ultimate & a complete 11 of Golden Goalscorers.
Parallels were excellent. 2 different RONALDO Green Emeralds. Captain and GG.

Overall, not a bad set but could have been better.

Nothing concrete. But it's probably due to the usual licensing problems.
Topps mentioned in the introduction to the sticker album, that was leaked here in another thread: "Despite maximum efforts, certain players elected not to be part of the collection". This can possibly also be transferred to the Match Attax collection.

that's right I completely forgot about that leak. oh well, guess we live with it.
it only adds to the weakness of the overall set.

Yesterday I did open:

1. 6x Mega Tin

3. 1x 100 CLUB MEGA Multipack
4. 5 x ECO Pack
5. 1x Starterpack
6. 1x Full box
7. 3x Mega pack.

I found

1. 7 x Black Edge Edition cards
2. 2x Energy Cards
3. 8x Shields
4. 18x Legends signature style
5. 1x AUTOGRAPH number 7 out of 50 (Frederico Dimarco)

I have some of them for swap.

I have some serious doubts. I usually never miss an edition of a Panini WC/EC collection, but with all weaknesess and the high prices for this collection I am not sure I will start this time. Same goes for the stickers (they look awful).

Also, I am afraid that it is impossible to collect all cards (at reasonable costs)...

Sadly, I have to agree... I've been loving Match Attax for the past seasons, even as Topps made the main sets more difficult to complete... but I've opened the starter for this one and gosh, the base cards just do not work for me, too colorful... didn't get decent specials too, all of them with a poor design I've not seen in a long time by Topps.

And yes, the price is completely outrageous... Even Panini didn't go over 25c per card (2€ for 8 cards), now Topps goes from 12 cards to 8 cards for 2.5€... and as you said, impossible to complete the set at reasonable costs, considering they added those premium and gold boosters, both costing 150€.

I'll collect what I can, but it's going to be with 1/10th of the enthusiasm, at least for now.
