@Pavle feel free to move this topic or create the correct one. In my mind this topic will be about history of stickers, curiosity, old pics, expo report etc

Yesterday I was at Panini in Modena, so I hope is a pleasure for all collectors around the world to have a look of CUSTOMER OFFICE where you can buy complete sets and stickers available and from where depart all orders from any part of Europe and world (thanks to Panini staff for authorization)

Wow, I thought those offices would be bigger... I see furniture with stickers, those are for complete sets or missing stickers orders? For example, in São Paulo (Brazil), for supplying missing stickers orders, it's like this:

These images look fantastic. Thanks @Caniggia and @dantzig.
Guys, topic is perfect, no need to edit or move anything, do not worry about it, and keep sharing these mouth-watering scenes :) :mouthwateringsmily :D

@dantzig I believe this is how Panini Brazil office looked for the WC. There is no chance they are this buys now. But still... Wow!

Maybe it's similar now with Copa America... And if Adrenalyn cards are also stored there, they'll be more busy too.

Anyway, you can find more photos here... And videos too, there's one there with a tour in the Panini museum.

Brazilian friends, be glad you didn't found one of these in your packets :D

@dantzig pics is just about customer office, the first pic is italian side (in the back you can find big amount of stickers from Calciatori 2014/15), the other pic is foreign side, there are person in charge for different languages and areas.. english, german, spanish, france, i don't know more :)

behind the offices start the different warehouses. I've been there only once years ago, for complete sets they have everything ordered and they can check. For old stickers and old empty, they check on computer and then they send request to the main warehouse, the bigger one.

Panini España years ago had a room (smaller) like the Brazilian and if you got lucky you can got the missing stickers yourself (i remember to was there last time in 2006 (WCGermany). Now is impossible. You have to order the stickers and you only can visit the waiting room (o_O). Brazilian collectors enjoy now because the experience in other Panini office is....

In the past ... I mean at least 15 years ago, you had opportunity to visit the warehouse of complete sets (not the main warehouse with all single stickers and album). Was great! Album were divided and you could read list in front of any row of furniture and then Panini staff member with you could go to take your request. Was a great time... also because were still available all Euro Cup albums, all World Cup albums except Mexico70 and Argentina78.

I thinks everything has changed for two main reasons:

1. change of property of Panini; the new owners had an idea completely different than original. Maybe more "professional" but for sure less friendly

2. increase of collectors and "business collectors" about stickers. So they had to stop to show what they still have (and how many...) in the warehouse or people use to buy not what they need but what they want to sell to someone else

The point 2 has to be shared.. I know some stories about Panini warehouse, some are confirmed, some are a kind of mistery or fantasy.

Panini family sold everything in 1989. After that Umberto Panini started to produce biologic Parmigiano Reggiano (the most fantastic cheese in the world) and then he bought the museum of Maserati. Now the owner is the son, Giovanni Panini.

Umberto Panini lived in Venezuela for 7 years until 1964, then he has to come back to Modena called by other brothers due to increasing of cards (stickers will start later) selling. I think this could be reason why Panini started to print stickers in South America from Venezuela and not other countries

Sounds like a Corleone family story :D If I remember the movie well, they moved to Cuba. And the guy (guessing its Gioavanni Panini) has Michel Corleone youtalkingtome face :D

Anyway, nice story @Caniggia! I believe museum is still opened and still works. Umberto Panini died 2 years ago if I remember well, he was last of three Panini brothers.

I think everyone knows, more or less, the history behind Panini and family Panini. This is a marvellous picture, end of '50s, at magazine store (EDICOLA is the italian name) in the heart of Modena, own of Panini family.

There is a nice story behind. In 1945, world war wasn't yet over, the four brothers (13-14 years old!) discovered this form EDICOLA close to the Cathedral of Modena. The owner was a rich guy not interested to reopen after end of bombing, so they have "bought" EDICOLA in change of a bycicle! Panini family was poor.

In first period they used to sell old newspapers, old magazines, cards.. everything they could find around.

Step by step, year by year this EDICOLA started to work a lot. Giuseppe Panini told to the brothers "if cards exist, there is someone who produce cards. If someone can produce cards, we can do same!"

First contact was with Editor Nannina with cards about SERIE A printed end of 50's. Panini bros bought from Nannina unused and unsold cards, they have changed in some way the album to collect and they MAINLY started to produce the packets. The first album ever of Panini was reality.

The great success was the discover of FIFIMATIC, the automatic cards machine to have packets ... the rest is legend :)

p.s. I love this story. "When dreams come true", if you a good idea let's start to make it real... even you're poor, even there is the war. Maybe now is harder, I don't know, but i love this story..

Nice photos! So is this some sort of comic-lovers gathering? And they have albums as well?
If I was able to understand (and I am quite tired so I can barely read :p ) this was your stand? It looks perfect, everything packed neatly... Great job! And DAMN you have so many sealed boxes behind :D

I wrote once how professional @Caniggia is, here's another proof... I would spend hours there, just checking everything!

And DAMN you have so many sealed boxes behind :D
I think they're just sealed comics/manga from someone else (maybe from the event itself?).

yes, @dantzig is right! are not stickers box sealed but comics. I collect stickers and also comics and during the expo usually I work together with a friend of mine who sells comics and gadgets. It's his job, for me is different, is good time (not every weekend or my wife could kill me...) to stay around comics and help him; for me selling of albums is just a way to save some costs for my personal ones. This is reason why, for example, I don't sell anything on internet (except through facebook page) .. if one day I'll be a kind of rich, I will remain just a buyer and not a seller :)
