Sending stickers from EU to UK

Good evening. I have a question re. sending stickers from the EU to the UK. I remember sending an envelop with a few dozen stickers to London a couple of months ago and that was no problems but in which cases could there be customs issues. Today I sent a bubble wrap envelop to Italy weighing 228 grams. Would that have been possible for the UK without any customs issues? Am asking as I am hoping to swap stickers with swappers in the UK as the PL stickers are not available on the Belgian Panini sites. Thanks in advance

In my experience, both sending from the UK and receiving into, it is random.

If you send it as a letter size (about the thickness of a pack of 6 cards in the packet still) then it is unlikely there will be issues. If it is thicker you probably will

But if I were to send say 80-100 stickers wrapped in plastic, then card board in one of those bubble wraps (last one I sent to Italy had 200 stickers and weighed 227 grams) then I could expect issues?

There is more chance of an issue than not.

In the UK we like to apply the rules, but only when we can be bothered. Most of the time we cannot be bothered, but if your package is handled by someone who decides to be a stickler for the rules it can happen.

Of course if you are not selling these stickers then they are a gift which is a different story

The annoying thing is one cannot write on the mail what is inside, many packages would disappear in would-be collector's pockets at Customs I guess ...

Can anyone tell me what exactly happens? suppose I send a sizeable package lik e100 to 200 grams and it gets checked? would I as the sender get a message? I would of course foot the bill just to ensure the swap goes through, but would like to know what would happen exactly?

"Shipments containing goods destined for non-EU countries must be accompanied by the CN 23 customs declaration" (from the Poste Italiane site)

To avoid problems, I always fill out form CN23 when I send abroad, unless it is a normal rectangular envelope for commercial use for which it can be declared that it contains only documents.

All in all it is easy and decisive for the success of the shipment.
