Panini World Cup 2018 Prizm

One of the best football card product is back. I was able to see some card images also , however most of the collectors were not happy with the initial look as they look very similar to select. Also nowadays most collectors prefer on card autographs. Hopefully panini can pull some trick and make it better than the previous one.

Good to see less sub-sets in the collection. A 200 base card set should be ok to collect.

Euro 2016 Prizm was a nightmare to collect with all them doubles triple and quad cards plus others. Still many empty spots in my binder.

300 card base set
Inserts:
20x connections
25x fundamentals
8x group stage
11xhost cities
32x national landmarks
25x new era
30x scorers club
20x world cup champions
1x zabivaka
checklists?? x9
The Checklist I have seen is very different to this one(which I've seen on some site)
The one I saw had only 3 sub-sets which were Landmarks, Scorers Club & New Era.
We'll find out next week when I get my boxes.

hope you're right mate but fear it will be like 2014 one with all those sub-sets let alone all the silly different colour variations. Auto checklist looks quite good though for people who collect them.
Looking at the checklist posted above it's seems like what you found was correct mate. 180 extra cards for sub-sets.
It's not that bad, much less than Euro 2016. My local sports card shop said he will have them release day 27th.

The green /25 cracked ice was the best card last time apart from the black 1/1. Hope there are some good looking inserts.

the FOTL seems like a big success . It got sold out in minutes. more cards are available in ebay now. As usual heavily prices due to the initial boom

Here is my first box. Not bad but that's the WC for ya, loads of unknown players from smaller teams.
I much prefer the Euro 2016 because we get bigger names for the hits and parallels.
@AndyR the pics are mixed between base & parallels.

what do you think is the better product since you have breaked both chrome and prizm.

I like Chrome more. Prizm has gone stale the last few years, for all Sport releases. More or less similar designs to Select with hardly any changes. Chrome gives you the full player picture on the card without borders while Prizm has the thick borders all across the card which takes away from the player picture. Price point is 100% to Chrome. You can get Chrome for 65$ while Prizm goes for about 112$. Two for the price of one basically with an extra 10$.
In addition, Prizm is geared more towards the big buyers/sellers of the hobby. People who own businesses or do box breaks. Completing the base set alone of 300 cards will take at least 6 boxes if not more while the sub-sets are almost impossible to finish with so many of them.
On the other hand, I finished 3 sets of base cards of 99 for Chrome and have 2 sets of sub-sets(future stars & Lightening Strike). I am not going to bother buying too many Prizm boxes knowing I won't even complete the base set.

How are you meant to complete this collection?? There’s like 70 case hits!! 32 Landmarks, 20 Champions, 8 Group Stages and 11 Host cities. Would cost about $3000+ to get all of them and that’s not even the full collection

The collectors collect according to their needs. not all will be going for the master set. It is impossible to get all the 1/1 and short prints. It is supposed to be collected based on countries or insert sets. An England team collector will try to collect all england players and their autographs whereas an insert collector will go for one insert card of all players. There are collectors who just go for one player. They will get all cards of that player and call it a rainbow of that set.

I don’t care about parallels or autographs, I just want the base set and all sub sets. This was possible in 2014, doesn’t seem like it is for this year’s set

I think you can get it if you make some deals with any online breakers. they break around 100 cases per good product and they will have a ton of base cards as they will never sent the base cards back to the buyers.

Yeah base set+ most inserts seems doable, it’s the National Landmarks and Champions that’s the problem
