Am I the only one who is bugged about the "Select" being everywhere? It's not a powerful word that should be displayed everywhere... Whoever had the idea for that and the ones who approved it should be beaten with a chorizo for hours.

Design is not very good to me, too many "vibrant" colors in the cards, looks like Woodstock has returned... Love the last card though, double memo logo!

Carlos this was too funny! I think the set is alright to be honest in the U.S we barely get any Stickers/Cards...So when I see something I get excited, but I think of that price tag and quality of the cards.

Well... Yeah, card quality must be good, that I don't doubt... But some of the cards' appearance have just too many colours who doesn't really match... It's like the designer of the cards was choosing colours randomly... Even hippies had better taste, I suppose.

I feel sorry for Messi in that card... Really, an auto card with him making a throw-in like he's a hunchback? And the background seems like he's from some scottish X-Men squad... For god sake, this is a hippie collection alright, the creators were high for sure.

Joe Hart card is badass though, thumbs up pic with an english logo memo piece.

Suarez ugly as always.

I have a feeling this won't be found in Dollar Tree.

Panini is carrying on with Donruss Selection name. Just hope they don't make this about inserts and be expensive as hell to try to complete

From what I saw, for all those autographs lovers, this is definitely one of the best collections... Also, I admit the cards now seem much better than the ones we get to see first.

Still, not one bit interested on them.

I'm not an autograph or Purple/pink/blue/black parallel collector either. Base set is all I want. They are done with the Prizm technology like the WC14 one. Already selling for 30$ only on e-bay for a 100 base card set.

That collection is a big challenge,
have not decided how to approach yet.

Too many parallels for Player-Collector like me,
probably will try to do just one rainbow and will go for one regular version of the jersey cards each.
Will leave out the Autographs since I do not like sticker Autos at all...

Anybody else going for some of these cards?

Apparently, when reading at a US forum, the boxes are going fast and they expect the boxes to very soon be selling for more than the retail price. I can understand that many are going for this collection since the autographs and memorabilia cards (even if they are only event worn and not match worn) are quite heavy on good players.

I am more interested in building sets so I bought a base set from eBay and are waiting for it to arrive. Got it for 35 USD including shipping, which seems to be an OK price at this early stage. I don't think I will get more than that from this collection.

Just received my 100 base cards and I have to say am very disappointed. Not with the quality but with the choice of cards.

Out of 24 teams in the set, 15 of them showing white kit. It gets a bit confusing sometimes if it isn't for the country badges.

Not very good seeing France, Bosnia, Holland, Chile, Portugal & Uruguay all in white kit when they could have been done in their famous Blue, Orange & Red & Sky Blue colours. Some teams were 50/50 like Italy, Poland & Switzerland. Some white some Blue & Red.
Thank fuck they got Brazil, Argentina & Peru in their famous kits.

I do realise there is a parallel set of 100 but even those don't have the kits in famous colours.

Panini America will have to learn fast that Football is not like N American sports where some home teams always wear white like in the NBA for example.

As you probably know, the base set got colorparallels (the same pictures) but also a photovariation (the ones with a small football on the backside). And on these photovariation-cards the pictures are different. The base set have the light jerseycolor (white for France, Holland, Spain, England, Chile and so on) where as the photovariations often have the dark colors (Blue for France, Red for Chile and England, Orange for Holland and so on). I agree that it is a strange way to do the set, but most of the colors you want are probably there on the variationset. What is strange / bad are the lack of consistency for example on the Italy-cards where one player got a white jersey and the rest a blue.

You can see the difference here, if this link is allowed: http://www.beckett.com/news/2016/01/2015-panini-select-soccer-variations/

Anyway I must admit, that I really like this product. I have spend way to much money on this stuff participating in way too many online breaks. That stuff is addictive :)

Yes I agree they are inconsistent. Doing the parallel is smart so people will buy more of the product.
So far I have resisted buying a box because it is expensive. I will wait 'till prices go down then I will spend on 1 or 2.
To be honest all this Auto/kit cards are not for me, overrated product. I like to get the sub-sets if I can.
Did you finish the whole collection?

No not even close. I will probably complete the non-jersey/auto sets in the sense, that I will get one of each card but not the same color. Just to get the photovariation-set all in base seems impossible. And to complete the auto (and maybe jersey) sets are way out of my range. I have hit some nice autos like Messi patch/auto, Buffon patch/auto and some historic autos like Beckenbauer, Charlton, Shearer, Terry, Lampard but buying cards like Pele, Gerrard, Klose, Baggio and so on are at least $100+ per card at the moment and thats just the base versions.
Maybe the cards will drop in price, when the prism and flawless hit the marked. Until then I am probably not buying any more.
