Yes that's right, Panini presumably looking for other collections to market in England having lost the PL and of course Euro 2024/2025.

I feel like EFL collections haven't been long-term offers in the past, maybe just not enough interest to collectors with so many people focussed on the PL but attendances are as doing well and TV deal is for a record amount so we will see.

Should be for levels 2, 3 and 4, potentially 72 clubs. Wonder what coverage they will give to League One and League Two. A double page for L1 and a single page for L2 maybe?

Fingers crossed the collection will be similar to Premier League ones: 600+ stickers,20+ players/team,hardcover album,120 packet box etc.And hopefully available for non-UK collectors too!! :D

Edit: Just looked and saw the number of teams in the league (24) which makes me think the collection will most likely be smaller than Premier League

Personally I can't wait for any Panini EFL collection that they issue. I support two EFL teams and I have very little interest in the PL at the moment.

Topps has ruined PL card collections now anyway as they have ruined everything else they have the rights for. Everything they produce is poor quality and too expensive. I'm done with MA collections now and the sets they produced for the Euros last year were just appalling.

So bring on an EFL collection - it's long overdue.

I'm with you too, I'm very much looking forward to the EFL album.

I'm hoping it will reach into the National League as that will be where I'll be at most weeks... but I'll be very happy to see the next 3 leagues above get an album.

Out of interest which two EFL teams do you support?

Cambridge United and Stevenage. I used to go to Peterborough as well when they were in the Championship - but that's not going to happen again any time soon.
When Stevenage built their new stand a few years ago it looked like it was made of Lego. Also to get to the ground you have to walk through the urban wasteland that is Stevenage town centre. If they ever want to remake the Zombie Apocalapse - Stevenage would be perfect. They could even do their weekly shop at ASDA.
My home town team (Scarborough) are in the National League North - I'll be at a few of their games this season as well.

I suspect that Panini's first EFL offering will be a sticker set sometime around Christmas - like I said - I can't wait.

Ha yeah, UK mid-sized towns are very special these days indeed!

Maybe the new album could feature a zombie from each town!

NL North is my favourite league, just outside of the full time professional levels so it retains a charm that is lost in the higher leagues. The only downside is the minority of teams that play on the fake pitches so I'm glad I don't see football on what looks more like leisure centre surfaces. Otherwise it's my favoured league now.

Stevenage had Danny Newton playing for them and he was at my local team for the past two years but was released and is now at Harborough Town. He should do well for them.

Yeah me too, will be nice to have an album for collectors. The more variation in it the better, with stadium background shots like Football 85 would be just perfect!

I was a teacher until very recently (retired) and two of my former pupils play in League One. One of the lads I played with at school eventually played for Chelsea and a couple of other clubs before a terrible injury ended his career.

I played on some artificial pitches when I was in Canada - they were really dangerous, especially when they were wet.

I just hope the Panini EFL sets will be affordable and not riddled with pointless parallels,

Really looking forward to the Football League collection. Guess it’ll be full of half size cards (two players to a sticker) to be able to do justice to the lower leagues.

Just hope Panini might spend some time and think about making the collection interesting rather than just more of the same over branded boring “look the same as every other collection” that is normally shoved out.

I remember the days of FKS when you used to get cards that were memorable and albums were not packed out with endlessly meaningless and/or tedious statistics. Yes FKS weren’t as professional as Panini but now I think the domestic market is crying out for something a little different in a collection. Panini should keep it simple and make better use of the space on the pages before they become too much like Topps.

Hello everyone. Hope you’re all excited for the New EFL collection. I would like to see if you would prefer for Panini to do separate albums for each league or combine all 72 clubs into a bumper album. I would personally prefer to see all the leagues get separate albums so Panini can include more stats about the clubs. But please let me know your preferences

Hmmm not really sure,I'd imagine Panini would do a big album like they do with Calciatori and include every league rather than separate ones but who knows.Whatever they decide to do,I hope the albums available for non-UK collectors too, cause I really loved collecting Panini's Premier League albums and who knows what Topps' PL collections will be like from now on

I think the first collection is going to be a sticker album with all 3 Leagues of the EFL in it.

I have every confidence that Topps will ruin the PL sticker collection. It might be even worse than the garbage they produced for the last Euros.

It will be £1.50 for a packet of 5 stickers, endless parallels (nobody wants parallel stickers), and lots of very hard to find stickers.

God knows how much a box will cost.

I would think Panini have already planned for the collection to be printed worldwide but they might of decided to keep it in England as the majority of people outside the UK might only know about the Prem and maybe the Championship and don’t know about league 1 and 2. I’ve never collected a Calciatori collection so I can’t say whether I believe it would work or not but if they do separate albums for the 3 Leagues it would give them the opportunity to put more stats of the 72 clubs in which I personally believe adds to an album in terms of making it a more enjoyable collection

I have to say that I disagree with you as I personally enjoyed collecting the 2024 euros collection. Don’t get me wrong it’s a shame that they didn’t have the licenses for all competing nations including the nations who had to go through the Playoffs. I did like that they included those nations but it’s a shame that some of the big players couldn’t appear in the collection and that the players couldn’t be seen wearing the kits of the nation. That’s certainly something Topps needs to get right for the 2028 collection as it also affected the 2025 Women’s euros collection as England, Germany, France and Italy didn’t have their national team badges or even the kits but for some weird reason Spain had their kits but not their badge. I would still buy from Topps as they now have the licences for the euros and maybe the World Cup but I’m not 100% sure whether Panini or Topps have the rights to the World Cup Stickers and Cards

The World Cup collection will be done properly, but as it's Panini also most likely lazily. It will be of a much higher standard than the Topps Euro 2024 collection which unfortunately the consensus is that it was a very poor "effort" if you can even call it that.

The EFL collection will be all leagues in a single album as it wouldn't be economical for them to do separate albums for each league. As interesting as it would be, not enough people will buy League 2 for example to justify it.

Expect there to be common themes with how they do stickers for League 2 in this collection and smaller nations in the World Cup next year. There are so many teams involved in these collections now that there will certainly be 2-4 players per sticker in some instances and going back to the lazy comment above, Panini like to copy and paste their designs whenever they can so there will be a certain amount of symmetry.

Would prefer all 3 divisions in a single album, just makes more sense. Would be annoyed if it were a stupid price of £1.50 for just 5 stickers though (£150 for a box of 100 packets!), that’s hardly making it attractive to kids is it and is likely to kill sales on a collection not covering the top division.

Agree there will be multiple players per sticker as you go down the divisions as there’s no way you’ll get 72 teams * 20 players. Of course you could go down the route FKS did in 1976 where every sticker was split (though it was a head shot and action shot of the same player) which would give a collection size of around 750-800 stickers by the time you add in team groups, badges etc.

Alternative would be that the Championship will get Premier League treatment while leagues 1 & 2 will amount to a badge, team picture and a couple of ”star” players for each team.

Anyway whatever format it takes it’s bound to be better than the execrable Topps Euros bash with its lunatic numbering system and stupid flash brightly coloured picture backgrounds

It's great we have this album to look forward to especially as we see overall PL apathy kicking in - I may only do this album (+ Calciatori of course, that's a given)

Genuinely pleased that Leicester got relegated so they can feature in it and if we can have a second season of it, then we all need Brackley Town to get into the football league next season!

I'm far more excited about this new album than I have been for any album for a few years now.

I still have the boxes for PL25 unopened as I bought a few of the 120 box sizes and never got round to opening them.

I'm not sure what other fellow UK football fans think, but personally I got bored of watching millionaires masquerading as PL footballers on the pitch so I'll be very much enjoying a slightly more authentic album this year
