Panini Brazil 2014

Hey there.

I assume some of you know that Germany has issued these mega packs for 9,95€ (RRP) and they seem a great deal... I've bought two for some ebay seller (of course, I paid more for each, due to shipping) and received everything sealed and ok... Opened one mega pack and started to rip the packets, to see the stickers I got... And found out really soon that it had a lot, and I mean a lot of duplicates... Opened everything and I counted ony 326 different stickers, out of 500.

So, can anyone tell me if this is "normal" in mega packs? I remember Panini didn't had many doubles in boxes and I thought these 100 packets were also the same, but I guess they're just random packets... But I made some calculations and I came to a conclusion it's still too much duplicates, even if it's totally random.

I know some stickers come out more than others (like Greece, Japan, etc etc) but I also got others too many times... For instance, I know Netherlands is not an "easy team", but I got Robben four times... Busquets too... Even some stadiums half... I know how Panini had their "patterns" for packing the stickers inside (I usually get stickers with difference of 4 in numeration, such as 112, 116, 120, etc), but this seems too much... And I wanted to open the other mega pack I bought, but after this, maybe I'll keep it sealed :\

The 2014 was a disaster for duplicates. Panini really became greedy. Nobody can´t convince me that they haven't messed with duplicates ratio. Really shitty thing to do just to make more money. So this does not surprise me at all.

The boxes and less duplicates are OK for nearly all collections EXCEPT World Cup 2014.
I guess with the marketing they had (paying newspapers to write them at least once a day, TV ads, online, social media) , they knew they are going to make big buck, so screw customers. Lets make them buy more.

They really lost my trust once I bought a box of WC 2014.

With this business model of theirs, the future looks dark. Instead they should invest in marketing all year, social media, websites.
I mean look at their sites. Fucked up totally.No useful info there. And still, they want to make people buy more stickers. If I remember good only the silver boxes had decent amount of duplicates (Swiss version).

Uoh, really Pavle? I didn't do the collection (also in Portugal we only had 50 packets box), so I've ordered also some 100 packets boxes, to do some collections (one is for me)... But if a box has so many duplicates, this will only get us more trouble to finish just one.

Ugh, I really hate this World Cup collection... Quality is poor and Panini doesn't even make an effort to improve, because they know they'll have crazy sales... Comparing with 2010, there's more than 100 stickers that come out more than the others... And now the boxes also have many doubles? I thought Panini was improving in some collections, but when it comes to World Cup, they just don't care.

Anyway, let's see if the mega pack I opened was an exception... For now, I'll keep the other mega pack I bought sealed and if I see they're greedy, I'll not buy anything else from 2014 World Cup (from time to time, I like to do an extra set, just for fun).

Carlos I purchased maybe 8 boxes of the WC 2014 stickers and my album is still not complete! Are packets where 7-stickers a pack so
7x50=350
8x350=2800
Plus all the other packets I purchased from the store.


I am missing 1 sticker this is ridiculous. I have soooo many doubles that I am trying to sell so I can get ready for other sets,but nobody really wants them and if they do they will offer .5 a sticker.

Well, according to some website, you would have to get around 3000 stickers to complete this collection without any swaps... So missing one in 2800 is actually normal If you have so many doubles, why don't you try to do one or two extra sets?

But do you know how many duplicates you got in each box (an average of those 8)? Even though I'll not buy those 7-sticker-per-packet boxes, they may be better than the 100-packets boxes we have.

They offer .5 per sticker? That's 50c, right? Seems a great price to me... Or do you mean .05 (5c)?

I actually have 2 sets haha my album and my loose set.

The variation of the doubles are horrible.
I was selling a single sticker for like .10 cents but .5cents is what I can get for them since it was made produced.

For Calciatori collection, i like to buy boxes, also because to have good chances to make swap with friends. About WC i prefer to wait and buy the complete set, is not the same and I save money.

I agree, Brasil 2014 is not one of my favourite albums at all

Panini website is just a kind of standard promo for their products, not useful for collectors and fans. By the way, they never written something about wrong Balanta sticker

Panini edited in its update pack of 71 stickers a wrong Eder Balanta sticker : the guy picture was not Balanta. In Brasil, Panini warned people on its website and proposed to change the wrong sticker by a good one edited later. You just had to send the wrong one to Panini. Some of us, living in Europe, succeded in having for free the right sticker by contacting Panini in our country. But like Caniggia said, Panini never said a word about this here in Europe.

I will be at Panini next friday, I will check if they have still some copies of this sticker. I have confirmation they have printed few copies, this is reason why (I suppose) they didn't inform people on website, etc

Maybe because of player not so famous (even some rumours are telling "real" Balanta could come to play here!), and they haven't received many letters/calls about. Was different in album Calciatori 2009/2010, it was printed with wrong number of championship won by Roma (2 instead of 3), in this case they have received many negative feedbacks and it was as new also in newspapers. So Panini printed a sticker with correct number, and sent for free to all people who receive promo letter every year. And of course you have this stickers also if you order complete set of Calciatori 2009/2010

To be honest, it seems also collectors don't care about real Balanta. I have informed different ones in Italy but almost anyone has contacted Panini.

I plan to visit Italy in February, but most probably will go to Milan, I guess its not close to Modena.
Anyways, if you can get a spare copy, I need one Balanta

I live in north of Bologna, so from my apartment to Panini is around 30 kms and every 3/4 months I like to go there

I'll check about Balanta also for you, of course!

Milano-Modena is around 180 kms, is not so far by car. You could come to Bologna, we don't have Panini but the best food in the world

It's a interesting video indeed and it seems he's very careful with the packets... But he still misses a lot, because there are, at least, some more from Europe... For my own collections, I just opened, at least, four variations of packets (all yellow at the front, but different on the back, like vertical/horizontal or having different barcodes, like none, one or two barcodes), one of them was the first he shown... It's very hard to get everything.

But this guy messed up a lot in his explanations... First LIDL packet was french (Gratuit), not Italian as he said, then he got it right with the english packet (For Free), but he always tried to match the writing in the back, saying a french phrase like english (writings in the front and back doesn't match)... But he does have all 4 different LIDL packets (and the McDonald packet).

A-F stickers are not Mexico stickers, they're from Austria (from the first Coca-Cola packet he shows)... Mexico are C1-C8, displaying the mexican team.

Also, he said it was a Greenland packet... Really, there is a specific packet for a territory almost empty?

And probably there were more mistakes, because I'm not a packet expert and I just know a few.

The 2014 world cup i have
- normal version promotional complete, outdated, but bought two updating kits, this one as it came with the cards still together.
- Hardcover complete, updated, with another updating kit now to substitute the original players that was on the album
- normal version naked, without stickers

Here in Brazil, we have add stickers, 9 to be exactely, here in Brazil, we hate these stickers, we prefer like other countries that it's new stickers of players, not adds!
