Another Donruss Soccer collection, probably released August/September. Only item of note is the first ever official Maradona auto.

Release date is (at the moment) august 17. Maradona auto, Ronaldo/Bale/James triple auto, rumours of Messi/Maradona dual auto. Some nice cards to chase.

Also Donruss will take on soccer "rookie cards" with the subset "Donruss Debuts"

8 card per pack, 24 packs per box, 20 boxes per case.
1 auto or canvas/mosaic parallel per box.

I will probably get me a box or two, and thats it.

I think it's better to wait and get a box . The price plummeted from 65 per box to 27 now for donruss 2015

Donruss was a dissapointment, no wonder prices dropped so quickly... Select is steady and Prizm will stay the same too.

But maybe Panini learned their mistakes and improved a lot this collection.

Is Panini and Donruss the same company?
Donruss is a collection brand from Panini, just like Prizm or Adrenalyn.

If Prizm is the Ferrari of the Panini then Donruss would be the Skoda. :D

I have a complete set of 2015 which is nice but the sub-sets/inserts are not special at all design wise & they made many mistakes in regards to the facts/info.

I also have a complete base set of 2015 and are about to get all the subsets (apart from the autos) since I have bought a big lot of cards. If anyone need anything there let me know.
I kind of like Donruss. Quite simple plain oldschool cards. Too much shiny and blingbling with the Select and Prizm for my liking.

There is a difference between "simple plain old school" and boring. Donruss sub-sets with silly footballs around the card as border in different colours as parallel smacks of lack of innovation. No wonder why the box is down to 28$ US.

Sure, it is close to boring, but still is one of the more simple oldschool looking cards anyway. Since we do not have the vast amount of different series I can only compare with Adrenalyn (playing cards) and Prizm and the like (shiny). Compared to them Donruss is something different. However, the images used are quite bad for many players. This is a quite common problem that I don't really understand. Why is it so hard to get good photos of players?

The parallels is boring though, I agree. But for me, as a base set + subset collector I do not care about the parallels.

That's probably why it's not very popular, the player images are poor. I have a complete set for it and a few parallels as I only bought 2 boxes and ended up getting the missing ones from E-bay.

I saw the pictures for this one and my first impression it's not that bad but it's mostly the same teams from 2015 release.

A couple of extra teams here and there like Lazio, Panathinaikos, Sporting Lisbon @dantzig but I can't help but feel this collection is geared so much towards the Latin market and latin people in America with most of the teams are either Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Mexican & South American.

Throw in Ajax, CSKA Moscow, Zenit among others and you have a bit of different flavour in the collection but not enough.

What happened to the English teams? Surely Panini has the rights to a couple of them.
Liverpool & ManU are two of the biggest teams across the world and their support in N America is huge, why are they not included?

Think I will pass on this one unless I get bored of waiting for the FIFA365 collection.

@LFC1892 saw some hours ago the complete teams list in facebook and yes, doesn't seem much special, though I'm obviously happy with Sporting being included... But people in Portugal seems to care more about Benfica not being there, which obviously lead to stupid discussions and checking each other dicks to see who's bigger.

About english teams, you know Panini lost (or gave up) many club licenses and probably MU and Liverpool are among them... Don't forget Panini got England national team license, not the EPL, so they would need to have agreements with the clubs they needed.

wonder if the women compared old style bush or the newly popular Brazilian. :D
understand your point about the license, it's just weird having a collection without English clubs in it.
if I decide to collect it I will save you the doubles for the Lions.

Went to the sports hobby shop and the owner had just received 1 box. He priced it first then gave it to me so I bought 12 packets.

Cheaply priced at 5.40$. Much better done than 2015 collection I have to admit. Here is a few pics. Video will be on my youtube channel tomorrow.

I must say, this cards are looking pretty good. Much better than last year I must say. But for the price, there aren't many numbered cards.

PS: I want to see it in Youtube and you ruined it Arthur ahaha

Heh, Sporting cards are mine, remember that! :D

Strange the Patrício card, not really a fan of the "teeth" design... And by the looks of it, not really high quality, so price is still expensive... Most cards kinda give a vintage feel, which fits well in some cards.

Maybe I'll get one of those boxes when it gets super cheaper :p

It was a sealed box which I opened.

@kribeiro10 sorry mate, video is better though, should be uploaded in the next hour or so. they are nicer than last years.

@dantzig retro feel/look for sure. the "die cut" card for Patricio is a popular design used for N AM sports like the NFL, NBA.
I like it because it's different. Shame that many of the players have switched clubs already. Ibra, Gotze, Hulk, Micky Armenia and others. Guess they wanted to release the collection to coincide with the new European season.
