NFL 2019

Hello.

Few days ago I received couple of different packs of NFL cards. By different I mean totally different products and brands (Score, Prestige, Donruss Football, Rookies&Stars). Didn't know there were so many.
I got interested and decided to try and collect one of the brands of trading cards for this season. And, that's where the problem starts.
I usually collect stickers. I don't have big experience with trading cards and I started collecting them just couple of years ago (Champions League, FIFA 365), but collecting NFL cards seems to be totally different than collecting, let's say Match Attax Champions League cards.
Went through couple of different forum threads and realised that there doesn't seem to be a binder on sale, and people usually make their own sets of favourite players and/or clubs, since the collections are huge. Tons of inserts and subsets, and there is bigger search for Autograph and Memorabilia cards, then trying to finish the set.
Maybe I just read wrong forums or didn't get it correctly.
So, I would be grateful if someone could share few infos on these collections and tips on what a beginner should start collecting, how to start, and how to finish, what products are on sale, where to buy them etc.

Hi.

I cant help you much, but here it goes . It is also my understanding that set building isn't really the big thing over there, and for many (most) sets it will be impossible to collect a full set due to price or simply due to a lot of shortprinted cards. Therefore I dont think you can find official binders for many (if any) sets. Instead you can buy loose pages (like ultra pro) to put in binders.

I guess much depends on, what you want to collect. If you just want a base set, then there are probably a lot of collections to go for (You can buy a complete Donruss factory base set for around $20) . If you need every card made (like many do for Panini AXL or Match Attax) you have to realize, that most sets have a ton of different numbered or colored parallels for each card, making it impossible to complete for most collections. If you have collected higher end soccer cards like Donruss, Panini Prizm or even more expensive, you know how it goes.

If you want to build a complete set (like in sticker collecting or Match Attax) you will need to find a set without parallels of each base card and probably also without memoribila and auto cards. Some of these will often be very shortprinted and way too expensive to get.

You want to start small with the cheaper collections like Score, Donruss or Prestige.
These are released in Hobby format & Retail format. Hobby can be bought from Panini america site, ebay or amazon or you can find them on these two sites:

Retail products are different and cheaper but you don't get as good as Mem cards or Auto cards unless you are very lucky.

Hobby is more expensive with the cheapest box which is Donruss can cost at least 75$ US.
There is higher end products as well that will cost anywhere from 100-500$.

They don't do binders or albums as it's a different collecting culture than in Europe.
In North America they only collect what they like. Their favourite team or player.
Most of them are sellers on ebay as they don't keep cards of other teams or players.
I wouldn't call them collectors, they are more like businessmen looking to make some profit on a good Mahomes or Zeke Elliott card.

I collect many of the collections but don't finish all base because it's so difficult to do so with many of them only having 2 or packs per box or the ones with 20 packs per box get so many doubles and Parallels(different coloured cards of the same player with serial numbers on the front or back).

I like this retro look of this years Score collection, but Prestige is also nice. As I can see Prestige is smaller collection, 200+100 base cards, so I guess I'll try with that.
