Hello Everyone,

I am a passionate collector just like everyone that enjoys this page. Today I would like to discuss a very important topic with everyone. This is regarding thief and fraudulent sellers on eBay and any other websites. Today I had a horrible experience after I purchased a Panini 1970 Mexico Complete Album from a seller on eBay.

About 7 weeks ago, a seller with the eBay user name of “070911gleb” contacted me though eBay and told me that he was interested in making a trade for several panini items. We talked for a little bit on eBay and then he suggested that we talk through email so he sent me his email. After talking for a few days, we agreed on a list of items that we would exchange with each other. We also agreed on some items that I wanted to buy from him and one of them was the original Panini 1970 Mexico Complete Album. The seller offered to sell me the album for $2,100.

During the transaction, I seller asked me to send him the $2,100 in various payments to different PayPal accounts. He sent me a list of 5 PayPal accounts and he told me to send different amounts to each account so that the total would add up to $2,100. After I sent the payments, I continued to speak with him through email and he sent me the tracking number for the album. I continued to check the tracking number every day and everything seemed fine because it was on its way to my location. However, on the day of delivery, the package got sent back to the seller in Ukraine because there was a problem with the address. So I had to wait 2 more weeks until the item got returned to Ukraine and then the seller resent me album once again. Today, I got a notice from USPS saying that the album could not be delivered because there was a problem with the address. I immediately went to the post office and I was able to get the package there. When I looked at the package, I noticed that my address was written incorrectly (this was not an accident). As soon as I looked at the package, I could tell that I was being robbed because the person sent me a small envelope and when I opened it, it had a small piece of cardboard inside.

After everything that had happened, I was able to figure out everything that the seller did to rob me and other people as well. Since I was buying the album from this thief, he used my money to rob other people and then sent me a piece of cardboard in order to buy time so that I would not open a case on all of the payments that I sent him.

He told me to send money to different accounts and at the same time, he was using that money to buy panini items from other sellers on eBay. When the people received my payments (which were supposed to be the payments for my album), the thief told these people to ship other panini items to his address in Ukraine instead of the address that was on my PayPal account. During this time, the thief wrote my address incorrectly on the package so that it could not be delivered and this would buy him more time.

Today, I opened a case on PayPal to have my money returned and unfortunately the money that is being returned to me is from other people’s accounts that had nothing to do with this. This thief tricked all of us, and now a lot of people lost a lot of money and panini items. Along with the money that I paid this person, I also sent him several panini items that we were supposed to trade so I also lost a lot of items from my collection.

Below is all of the information that I have about this thief:

ARKADY BORODKIN
EVPATORIYSKAYA STR 1-49
69106 ZAPOROZHYE ZP
Ukraine

This is the name on his PayPal account: Стасюк Юрий

This is his email gleb070911@yandex.ua

This is eBay user name is: 070911gleb

I have also attached a picture of this person on this message. I found this picture on his profile from the website below. There are 2 people on the photo so I am not which one he is but he is one of the person's on this picture.

This is his website showing pictures of his collection and all of the items that he wanted to “trade” with me and he contacted me:

http://my.mail.ru/mail/arkadiy81/photo/_myphoto

This person has a 100% positive feedback on eBay but do not be fooled by this. He is a complete liar and thief and he stole thousands of dollars worth of items from me and many other people that were involved in this scam. Do not do any business with him at all, whether he is buying, selling or trading with you. If anyone knows this person or knows any more information about this person please let me know because PayPal is investigating this case and I want to provide them with as much information as possible.

Please be very careful when you buy items online and follow the guides provided by Pavle on this website on how to buy items safely online. If you have any questions or comments about this person please let me know.

I am sorry that all of this happened. I will try to be as brief as possible so that you can react fast.

I know this guy actually. I would never have remembered but after seeing a photo I knew I have seen him somewhere. I was active on this Russian site for few months.

LastSticker. ru. Take a look at their members list

Your guy is right here http://www.laststicker.ru/users/7992/

Try opening a topic there in English, explaining briefly what is the problem. I am sure they will ban you very soon and probably ignore, but you can blow a whistle there and see what happens.

Now, I can talk about how many mistakes you made by making this transaction, but I am sure you know that. 5 different payments, 5 different accounts, 7 weeks, etc.
I was in similar situation and I know how it feels. You are lucky to have PayPal and eBay on your side. I got scammed on Portuguese Forum 2 years ago or so for 600 euros, but it was a trade.

Keep us updated on the issue.

Hello Pavle,

Thank you very much for your response and support. I am really disappointed in myself because I realized how many mistakes I made and how I let this person take advantage of me. I was so eager to have the album that I completely missed all of the signs. But I have learned my lesson now and this will never happen again.

This message goes to everyone that uses eBay, Laststicker, etc: PLEASE BLOCK THIS PERSON FROM BUYING OR TRADING ON YOUR ACCOUNTS. DO NOT DI ANY BUSINESS WITH HIM.

I have also attached a picture of the package that I received today. It shows the package before and after I opened it. I also took a video of it for evidence in case I need it for future reference.

I have an idea. I have a really good friend in Ukraine. Probably the best guy in this hobby.
I will email him right now. I am sure he knows this Arcady guy. Lets see how that will work.

In the meanwhile keep us updated on the situation.
Sharing PayPal addresses and names to whom you pay would be a good start.

I talked to PayPal and eBay today and they are refunding me the money but it will take a few days because they are investigating this case. The whole case is very complicated so they have analyze everything in detail.

Since its a financial transaction, I am sure you will get your money back. I believe in PayPal. Try not to lose nerves here. It will not make any difference. Send me via pm here or on email a list of people and addresses. There might be some strange pattern.
In the meanwhile, you can entertain yourself and see how I got scammed in past.
There is not much you can do right now except to wait. I will do my best to help you.

Ok Pavle, thank you for all of your help. I really appreciate it. I want to make sure that everyone knows about this person because I don't want this to happen to someone else. I also want other people to post a list of other scammers and thiefs that are on eBay and other websites so we can all watch out for them.
I appreciate your support and I will keep you updated when this issue is resolved. I will take a look at your story as well.

One more thing, is the ARKADY the person you talked to via e-mail? Has any money been sent to him or only to five others accounts?
Now I am finding it hard to understand.
You figured out his info and address based on the return letter you received or?
I am not defending anyone, but in theory, I can write Super Man on the return letter, most Posts do not check the sender at all.
So do you have any other proof it was Arkady Borodkin?
___

EDIT : Holly shit. Just saw the list of emails. Basically this guy, who ever he is, ripped you off pretty professionally by making you pay his eBay bills, which he all spent stickers? Really? Dear Lord...

Yes, ARKADY is the person I spoke to via email so that is how I got his email. At first, he told me to send the money to his PayPal account so I sent him the $2,100. I also sent him about $400 for other items that I wanted to buy from him which were stickers, sticker sheets, and some packets. But the next day after I paid him, he refunded me all of the money because he said he was having problems with his PayPal account. He said that PayPal had placed a hold on the money that I sent him due to the amount so he refunded me and told me to send the money to a list of emails that he gave me (I sent you a list of the emails, let me know if you got them).

The way I got his address is because that is the address that he gave me to send the items that I was going to trade with him. I sent him a box full of albums, sticker packets, sheets, and all kinds of stuff. In return he was supposed to send me a lot of sticker packets that I wanted but all he sent me was the envelope with a piece of carton.
I know that this whole situation is very complicated so I am trying to explain everything the best way that I can. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks

That is now perfectly clear. I will see what my good friend from Ukraine knows about this guy.
The way this was done was pretty "smart" to make things difficult for PayPal.
But I am sure they will get him sooner or later.
In case you are curious, your "mate" is this Blondy on the left. I did some digging on LS.

edit : realized this blond guy is Ukrainian football player.

Yes, I know. The guy is a professional scammer. I have been thinking about it all day and he made it very hard for PayPal because there is no trace of his account being involved in this scam. He used all of my money to purchase expensive items from other people, and then had those people send the items to his address. PayPal checked all of the tracking numbers provided by all of the sellers that received my payments and they all show that the items were delivered to his address in Ukraine. Since the payments were made with my account, "technically" all of these people should have shipped the items to my address in order to be protected as sellers. But since it shows that they shipped the items to Ukraine, they will lose the cases that I opened on PayPal. So now PayPal will think that they are the bad guys instead of the real thief. I really hope that PayPal will catch this guy and realize that we were all tricked by this scammer.

You will probably get your money back, and sellers will get damaged. Make clear to PP that you want this guy punished.
You can also go to a police and report an online scam, cyber crime.

Just an update to this topic, my friend from Ukraine has been in touch.
I will not post entire conversation with him, but one thing that he said is true :
"The collectors society can be really strong to solve this matter."
And its true. I will make sure to spread the word about this, and we will warn people on LastSticker as well. No matter if this has not happened on this site, I feel terrible when I hear these kind of stories.
Lets see what we can do to make this guy get what he deserves.
Hobby is for collectors not criminals.

Okay, it seams that discussion about this has been on LastSticker.

It seams that some collectors have seen your eBay listing.

Here is a link ,but you would need translator if you do not speak Russian.

Your eBay seller also stated his view on this situation there.

Bottom line, I am sorry that this has happened. I hope it will be resolved and let us know how it worked in the end, if you managed to get your money back.

I would also advise you to file a CYBER CRIME report. You can do that on many sites, including your local police and even FBI in the USA. Its easy to report, just fill in the form on the site.

Best would be to just go to local police and report. Even if you get your money back.

I do not see how posting someones private photo helps in this case, but if you think it does, then okay.
Otherwise I would like to delete them, since its infringement of privacy in a way.

Hello Pavle,

Thank you very much for spreading the word about this. I will definitely report him to the police on Monday.
Have you received any more news?

Several people have contacted me today about the listing that I put on eBay and they all agree that this man is a thief. One of them even told me that Arkady is known at the laststicker.ru website for doing shady business with stickers/cards. I tried using the translater on some of the conversations on laststicker.ru but I did not have a chance to review every single post. Can you briefly explain what is going on. Has he scammed more people on other websites. Today I spoke with PayPal and I am getting almost all of my money back.
I want everyone to know about this and spread the word as much as possible.

Thank you for your support.

You can read the discussion on the link above, that´s pretty much what there is to know. Guy is claiming innocence.
Using Google Chrome, can translate everything.
Great to hear about the money, I hope other people involved wont be damaged. Its good thing that you reacted fast and its good that people know know.

What a complete liar. Today he had the audacity to email me and this is what he wrote to me: "why do you deceive others those who sent money at my request. you said the Belgian, which has already received the parcel and there was a simple cardboard is not true, you have not yet received the parcel and could not open it. As you can tell. You decided to cheat on me and all recipients."

This guy is a complete idiot and he is trying to lie his way through this but he will not get away with it. I have proof of all the emails that he sent me including the tracking number that he sent me which matches the envelope with the carton inside. I think PayPal has figured out what he did and they blocked his account. I just translated that from one the conversations on laststicker.

I also spoke with PayPal about one of the cases today and they told me that they gave back the money to me and to one of the other persons who was also a victim. They did not give me any information about the other cases yet. But hopefully everyone will get their money back. So I think at this point they will refund all of the victims and shut down Arkady's his account.
