Help us choose players for an upcoming football card game and win a free deck!

Hi guys

, I'm Matt from Foxwood Collective. We're a small design studio in London and we'll be launching a fun football (soccer) card game called Scrimmage!

The game is aimed for 2-4 players, featuring skills, tactics and luck ... just like a real football match! The aim is to outscore and outsmart your opposition and use all the tricks in the book!

Scrimmage will feature more than 100 player cards, inspired by the players representing their countries on Euro 2016 and we would love to hear your suggestions which players to include and what nicknames to give them! The best suggestion in this topic will win it's own free deck of Scrimmage cards.

Scrimmage is scheduled to go live on Kickstarter on May 26th. This is also the date until we're open to your suggestions. You can find more info on www.scrimmagecards.com

Hi Matt, welcome to our forums.

That is a very interesting idea... Adrenalyn or Match Attax cards are very basic and too childish, so a new approach for adults and teenagers seems refreshing

About the suggestions... Players are somewhat easy to tell, you should include the best players from the 24 national teams, but balanced in terms of field position and skills... For me, the following (obvious) players should definitely be included:

• Goalkeepers: Buffon, Neuer, De Gea, Courtois;
• Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Lahm, Kompany, Lichtsteiner, Alaba
• Midfielders: Pogba, Ozil, Iniesta, Modric, Kroos, Rakitic
• Forwards: Ronaldo, Griezmann, Lewandowski, Bale, Ibrahimovic, Müller, Rooney

Then there's some who stood out this season, like some Leicester players.

Nicknames are fun to imagine... goalkeepers like "Octopus", "Stretcher", Golden Hands" or "Libero" (Neuer), defenders like "Tower", "Wall", "Slider" or "Gandalf" (you shall not pass, ahah), midfielders like "Watcher", "Cool Guy", "Omnipresent", (box-to-box, always searching the ball) or "Maestro" (the number 10, key player) and of course, forwards like "Slingshot", "Trickster", "Wonder Boy", "Sneaky" or "Flash"... To me, they would surely be cool nicknames for different types of players
