Has anyone ever had their collection professionally valued. I believe my collection is worth quite a bit, but the insurance company have never valued a collection before

very hard to have a value of a collection of stickers, because everyone has a personal idea of prices (when sell but also when buy) and there isn't any kind of official guide about. With comics there is in USA some about ... and then same value change so much from country to country. Ok, maybe Panini Mexico70 can be similar worldwide but I know there are albums that can change so much from country to country

I have an idea of value, but is mine ... and to be honest I can't say also is the correct one, is just mine

Yeah have a friend who is a big dealer and he gave me a rough idea, but obviously he has not seen the condition of my albums. The insurance company are specialists in collectables, but have never had a set of Panini albums before I have every wc expect 70, every euro, both womens world cups, and 4 copa Americas. So a reasonable size

In this case would it be an appraisal that needs to be done?

I think as collectors it's always good to have some type of protection on your items. Weather it's theft or act of god (Mother nature) as collectors it's good to protect your valuables....Unless you get a safety deposit box haha

Since i need a new fire-insurrance soon (moving to a different house next year) i also have been wondering if i should include this...
Collections has grown quiet a bit, so it might be worth to take Insurance.
Anyone here has one already?

I was thinking about this idea; I spend lots of money. I wanted to try to contact an insurance too, but I don't have time to do this

Sorry guys but I don't understand this idea of insurance at all. Why would you want to insure your collection ? Unless a criminal fire burns down your house I doubt any insurance will pay you back.

I did manage to get hold of an insurance company in the Uk, (they had never done stickers before) had done stamp albums. In the Uk you only have certain amount of cover on normal household insurance and any individual piece(collection) over £2000 should be insured on its own. We live in a second floor flat and a car crashed into bottom flat last year, I hope that never happens again. Anyway I have taken out the insurance with this company who claim that if I ever had to claim they would firstly try and replace the stickers rather than pay cash.

Probably a good idea. Worked out I've spent £5,200+ just on my Forest collection, and I now some of the high value cards are worth more than I paid for them.

If you want details of the company I got in touch with let me know (I'm not on commission)
