Feel free to speak about any match that's upcoming and your thoughts on it in this topic.

Just wanted to speak about 2 matches coming up (2nd leg).

Real Madrid Vs Juvents?

Bayern vs Barcelona?

Any scores? Who's going to win and be at the final?

My opinion final Barcelona vs Juvents.

Barcelona vs Real, Barcelona will be the champions, maybe a 2-1.

Barcelona attack is invincible nowadays, Messi is in top form again, Neymar is good too, Suarez has finally understod how to play with those two... Bayern is broken, but you never know if they'll have another good day, like they had against Porto.

Real will probably win against Juventus, maybe a 3-1, even if they had problems in these last two matches... Juve played very well, but they have the "italian syndrome": when they're winning, they lose the momentum on purpose and focus so much in defending... After 1-0, they retreated and Real attacked in full force, so much that Juve can call themselves lucky for not losing at half-time (James is still wondering how he missed that heading)... Real defense is terrible and they could have tried to have a more confortable advantage, but they were too much worried about not losing... Tevez reaction almost at the end said it all.

I always liked how Boca vs River matches were passionate, but that incident was insane.
I can not beleive what sort of idiot you have to be to spray a pepper spray on players!!
In case someone has not seen, here is how Boca fans spray pepper spray through the tunnel. This is not football anymore, this is sick.

I think supporters are a basic part of football (and basket, too) but this make no sense at all. And first who shall beat these idiots were the same Boca supporters.. because guys, you're going to miss the match and probably penalties for La Bombonera ...

here in Italy we're waiting for another great derby ROMA-LAZIO (derby of Rome). Due to Coppa Italia final (Lazio vs Juventus), the match has been postponed to monday 25th may at 18. It's very important because in ranking Roma is at 67 and Lazio 66, so the winner will go directly to Champions League without preliminary

All people think that Roma is the club of "true romans", the club of the city and Lazio is from neighborough villages (maybe due to the name, Lazio is name of region where is located Roma), but was different in past. The real and first club of the city was LAZIO, born in 1900. ROMA born only in 1927 under fascism dictature.

South American countries have their blood always boiling in football... I really don't know how to improve the situation, as it's already too much rooted there... But I can't talk much, even here in Portugal it happened this, in the day Benfica was crowned league champions:

@Caniggia I know Lazio for two reasons: the amazing team they had in 98-2000 and their fascist supporters... AS Roma was born during fascist dictature to stand up to them?

@dantzig during fascism we had of course really strong nationalism and many thing connected with mighty ancient Rome Empire. It's not easy to have confirmation, but seems ROMA was born to be the club symbol of nationalism and empire. LAZIO was not ok due to name and connections with the Church.

I don't know, usually I don't like to talk policy inside football, even policy is part of course of football (remember Argentina78?). And i like in general ultras world, in some little way i'm part of it (with basket), but i really hate policy inside stadium. Lazio ultras are on extreme right side, I mean not all of them but for sure the leaders. Now is the same also with Roma ultras, until '90's was different. Of course both clubs have millions of supporter with thousands different ideas about policy.

Just to clarify one thing here: when I wrote "their fascist supporters", it's obviously a small branch, not all Lazio fans... Real Madrid Ultras are also fascist as hell, but the great majority of Real fans are decent people.

My point of view about being nationalist: it doesn't mean you're fascist, but being fascist means you're nacionalist... Problem is, extreme nationalism leads to fascism, no doubt about it.

My mother always say: "everything we do in daily life is political"... Maybe it's too much, but in many situations, it's true, even if you're not into any sort of politics.

I always thought that AS Roma had more lefty supporters... Are any rivalries in Italy where there's clear differences? I don't know, maybe Juventus-Torino or AC Milan-Inter?

Just seen a terrible video of Benfica fans being beaten in front of his two sons (9 and 13) by local police... What he did? I have no idea, but it does not seam like something worth to be beaten in front of his kids and 66-years old father.

You were sleeping, my friend ;)

This has gone viral in Portugal and it seems many network channels around the world have noticed to.

Here's the story: this father, grandfather and two sons were waiting to get out of Guimarães stadium after the match... For security reasons, the police didn't open the doors, so many Benfica supporters were trapped inside the stadium corridors.
Among them were those four and the younger son was feeling dehydrated, because of the many people there and also the hot weather (this May had many days with temperatures above 30º, unusual so early)... So, the father asked the police watching the doors to open them, since the kid wasn't feeling well... The police agreed, but only for them 4, so they came out.
After they came out, a woman noticed the kid needed water and she gave him her bottle (you see her on the left, in the beginning of the video, leaving the place)... According to the father, the officer in question saw they were outside the stadium and asked him what they (the four) were doing outside... Father explained, the police argued that this wasn't a good situation to bring kids (probably he was right, these scenarios with people trapped are not good to have kids among them)... Father argued that he would bring them to where he would feel safe... I bet there was more than that, maybe with some disrespect to the officer, but nothing really offensive (according to many witnesses there), but what happened then was completely out of proportions.

Anyway, the jerk was the commanding officer there, so it's even worse... The others clearly acted within what the situation required, calming people and controling the situation with the proper amount of force... So most people are against this officer, because he was clearly out of his mind... The youngest child even peed in his shorts ( you can see it when he was being calmed down by another officer).

The officer in question has wrote in his report that the father spit on him and even ripped a bit of his uniform... You can't see anything like that in the video and again, the witnesses didn't see any of that.. Also this officer had a past disciplinary procedure for... can you guess it? Yeah, excessive force... Also, a merchant has filed a compaint against him last month, also in the stadium and again, for excessive force.

Anyway, in the next day after the incident, the police high commands and the public prosecutors have initiated a disciplinary procedure against the officer... Let's see how it ends, but with so many public attention, that officer is toasted.

Drinking all night, singing argentinian football songs, praising Messi all the time, etc etc etc... Until one guy recognizes he fought months ago with the guy he was hugging, so they start fighting again and everyone around them has a reason to release their frustrations... Riots all over Buenos Aires, which will extended to Uruguay (just because they won Copa America 2011 in Argentina) and also to Brazil, just because they hate each other.

Or they could just dance tango.

Interesting news today. It appears that several FIFA officials have been arrested in Zurich. They now investigate how some countries like Russia and Qatar got to be the hosts for the WC. Corruption and politics everywhere. Bloody idiots go away from sports! Article on the Guardian.

Oh, what a surprise... Didn't expect that from FIFA, the incorruptible, the honesty peak, the company we all admire!

Is it too hard to understand how Russia And Qatar got to be WC hosts? Only a couple of facts:

Portugal + Spain had the better resources for WC 2018... Almost all stadiums already complete, the best in accomodations, training fields complete too, etc etc etc... Russia pro: money and oil... I don't say Russia don't deserve being the WC hosts, but not like this.

Qatar was, by far, the underdog in 2022 bidding... Temperatures are too hot in summer, and Qatar is not a team that can compete with the top teams (so far)... USA was leading the votes, I think, but in the last day, Qatar managed to even surpass the USA solid bidding... Similarities with Russia? Money and oil.

Like the US prosecutor leading the investigations said: "this corruption in FIFA is already too much rooted"... It's normal for them to corrupt and be corrupted! And the only ones charged are top dogs from american continent, probably because US investigation is based on their own continent, but I'm sure it's everywhere!

I saw this today and died, haha.

This is one of the few times where people are actually thanking us for getting involved in something, haha.

I think the corruption needs to end though.

I can't still find out why these people insist on playing the 2022 WC in... Qatar?! I mean, seriously?

I don't know guys if you have seen this video, but yesterday's news just reminded me of this.

I think this guy is right. Football is something hard to leave behind, and that's where FIFA's power actually relies on. The only way to destroy FIFA would be to boycott them, but it seems like there's no way of doing that... except for the Americans :p

Oh, and look at that part in 9:46!
