Portugal today scored 7 in a match where Quaresma probably played his best match ever: 2 goals and 3 assists, plus some incredible moves to make the stands go wild... If this guy in Euro doesn't play just half of what he played today and against Belgium, he'll be crucified.

Yesterday he played on both sides (switched to the right when Vierinha entered) , what's your best eleven would be ?

Probably similar to the one yesterday: Rui Patrício, Vieirinha, Pepe, Carvalho, Raphael Guerreiro, Danilo/William (very similar players), João Mário/Adrien, Moutinho, Quaresma, Nani & Ronaldo... Maybe André Gomes for Nani, making João Mário more to the right of the attack and Gomes next to Moutinho... Adrien though is the best player to connect Danilo/William with the attack, we have now 3 players who can be playmakers.

good game by Romania i didn't expect them to make it such difficult for France.. Payet with another missile this time with his "weak" foot :)

Good opening game I thought. Both teams had chances in the 1st half and tried to create.

France shaded it at the end with the quality of Payet who was superb.

Romania played well and might feel a bit unlucky to lose the game at the end.

Pogba is a real enigma for me. He is talented, no doubt of that, but he brings nothing to the team. Evra was catastrophic yesterday.
As I said to my friends weeks ago, Romania can be "a pain in the ass" for any team..

yeah, It seems Pogba is progressing a little bit each year but i can't remember big games from him when taking the lead of a team. He lost too many balls yesterday part of it because Ovidiu Hoban was on him and made it difficult for him, I saw statistics at the end of the game Hoban covered most KM in the match.
Evra was pathetic yesterday i agree. Also Griezmann was a little bit unfocused maybe even tired.

Preparing for today game :)

For sure, Payet savior of France... He was the surprise in the 11 (many people thought Martial was going to play), but was definitely the best player in the team.... Giroud also shaken a bit of Romania excellent defense, really liked Chiriches and Grigore. Hoban very good too, like Pei wrote... Actually, all Romania team was a pleasant surprise, high pressure all over France team (except for the 2nd goal, too much space for Payet firing that missile)... And that number 10 Stanciu has magic in his feet.

Pogba is one of those guys were he might not be playing well, but can suddendly turn a match to France... I was surprised when he came out and I didn't see France getting better without him... But indeed, everyone was expecting much more from him.

Evra was completely overrun, I can't even remember him winning any ball against Romania right wing... I was even telling to a friend that Evra was playing very badly when he does the tackle for the penalty.

France was the most favourite team in this first round, I believe their odds are now smaller than Germany or Spain.

3 matches per day now, except for Group F day and still with Copa America matches... 5 matches today! :D

The Swiss deserved their win. Albania missed 2 very good chances but have to credit Sommer for the 2 brilliant saves.

But Albania showed why they deserved to be in Euro 2016, even more when playing with 10, they even played better... Berisha also did some tremendous saves (that goal though was his fault), best two players for me in this match were actually both GK.

So far, the underdogs are showing their true colors... Romania and Albania have an incredible fighting team spirit, combined with some good players.

Outside the stadiums, seems english supporters are already doing s**t... Didn't they learn some years ago, when England was almost out of any international competition? Even now I saw some live footage from Marseille, where it looks like an urban warzone.

In fact, not a surprise at all. The coach has no other player like him in the midfield so Payet is expected to be in the starting 11 for each match. Martial is clearly a sub for Griezmann or Giroud. Even Pogba who needs to wake up ! I can confirm Evra lost all his one on one and the don't need to mention the fault he makes on the penalty. A shame.

That was typical England .. How Lallana played all 90 minutes ? Sterling as well, was on a running mode whole game with poor decisions at the end. I hope this late goal will teach Hodgson a lesson

But isn't Payet in the attacking trio, with Giroud and Griezmann? I think most people would thought Martial would be in the starting 11, even if it was just for being more famous... Of course, this comes from a guy who didn't pay much attention to Payet form.

Evra and Sagna are older now, they can't keep up with fast wingers and balls thrown behind their backs... They need to rely more on other things, like positioning and antecipation... Like Ignasevich, he's too slow, but can lecture pretty well the game.

England had their chances, but Russia's defense was though and precise. The only way they were beaten was with a free kick.

It was a great match. Berezutski rules at defense (although he sent too many long balls that were controlled by the English players).

Wales just about deserved to beat Slovakia who were good for a draw.

Typical England, can't finish a team off. Russia were piss poor and deserved nothing out of the game but they took the 1 chance they got in injury time.

Deschamps' system is 4-4-3 so, yes, Payet is the centre of the attacking trio. Most people here would love to see a 4-2-1-3 with Payet, alone behind Griezmann, Giroud and Koman. It means you take off one midfielder.

Evra and Sagna have always been poor defensors. Always
