Damaged or Defective

Hello Everyone, I wanted to speak about condition of cards. Have you ever open a pack and look threw it and noticed some flaws? Maybe some corner wear or maybe it looked like someone pressed against the sticker with their thumb? I open plenty of packs and I always notice something that I'm not satisfied with.Sometimes the workers at the factory's make mistakes it happens.

This forum is to talk about your experience on bad stickers or cards!

I confirm. It happens quite often that a card is damaged. However it can happen not only in the factory but also in logistic, in transit. People in shops can also bent packs and damage cards.
Also in manufacturing process cards get cut badly sometimes.
Do you have some photos to share or cards/stickers damaged?

Right I noticed with the Copa America stickers. The top part of the stickers look like they have this black color around the top border. I think this might have of been a bad cut or the paper has color from the stickers. These are just 2 examples, but I noticed this on a couple already. The stickers border is supposed to be a pure white all around.

To be honest, either I am blind, or you are just too obsessive with whiteness :) From these images, it seams like they have creasing, which is in most cases caused by opening pack in a hurry.

But also, it can happen when a assembly line worker puts a pile into the distribution machine (cca 0:50 of this video). Perhaps from cutting machine (video here)? But most likely when they slam the pile of previously cut stickers onto a desk, like this (0:54).

After taking a closer look, I indeed see a small black spot on some of the photos.

Simply put, it looks like the top border is dirty and yes, it happened to me sometimes too, even some days ago, when opening many CL 2014/15 packets... Also, it happens only in the top border and in just some boxes... I still can't figure it out why (doesn't seem any of the situation Pavle wrote).

@dantzig I thought I was the crazy one haha. I'm not sure why this happens maybe it's the paper? Or the color from the ink fads on the stickers?

1st picture: RVP sticker has color discoloration. (Not such a big deal just wanted to mention)

2nd to 4th pictures: Now I have issues like this all the time. Sometimes when I open packets it has these 2 marks for some reason. I guess this has to do when the machines press against the stickers.

5th to 7th pictures: This is what I hate most! It seems like some of the employees use force with there thumbs and leave finger print. (Bad bent)

@ilias, I've merged all your posts, it's better to see it all like that.

So far, I've only saw that dirt in the upper part of stickers, so the packet color fading into the stickers inside doesn't seem likely to me (it would be all over the sticker, right?)

Could be from the cutting process, the blade migh have some dirt after cutting so many sheets... Could be when stickers are being sort into packets, those "rollers" or whatever you call them, when "pushing" the stickers, can also have some dirt in one... I'm more inclined to this last option, cutting would only leave dirt right in the edge... But can be something else I'm not remembering.

About the other issues you got... Actually, I got them all at least once too... Those two small parallel lines were very common in some CL stickers I got from 2008/09, I think... The index finger issue I can't remember where I got it... There was also a very common issue in CL stickers, with some kind of nerve in some stickers... I still have some in Champions of Europe 1955-2005 and CL 2008/09 stickers (I'm too lazy now to take pictures of them :p).

Complain with Panini America, they need to know their production has some flaws... Stickers itself are not cheap, you're paying 10x more of what they worth to produce, so at least, you have to get flawless items.

@dantzig Thank you for merging them for me looks much better.

Now when it comes to the dirt, I am pretty sure it has to do with the ink. I think the ink of the printer is probably still wet and stains the border.

Now when it comes to the other 2 problems the 2 small parrarles and the thumb print. I see that often,Maybe I should contact panini about this errors that happen.
