As I have mentioned a couple of times on the Panini thread I wasn't a fan of their sticker collection for this new tournament.
This lead me to a search and to my surprise an ex team mate of mine is from Peru and happens to collect World Cup sticker albums.
I mentioned to him a few weeks ago after one of our games how this new Panini album is average and not worth the money. He said that 3REYES the Peruvian made is very good and always fun to collect.
He went to Peru to visit his family and came back with some goodies for me which am very happy to share with you here.
Pepe brought me back a soft cover album, hard cover album & 2 boxes.
Today I opened the boxes and I wasn't disappointed. Very well made album with quality paper we all ask for. Both Soft cover and hard cover paper quality is very good.
A double sided free poster in each album is a nice idea.
There was the innovative idea of a checklist of needs on the first page. Love it but won't use it to keep the albums clean but some kids might love it.
The album is 380 + 32 badges for a total of 412 stickers compared to 500+ from Panini.
First thing I noticed that when re-sticking one, the paper doesn't rip or make a little hole in the album. Peeling the sticker gently or even a little faster makes no difference.
Sticker quality is as good if not better than Panini. Even my wife compared them and she doesn't even collect or know the difference came up with the same conclusion.
Many positives for this 3reyes album:
1-Stadium stickers. All 12 of them.
2-All 32 teams with actual shirts not generic(PSG/Miami/Seattle) & more stickers for the US teams. Miami gets 2 pages and Seattle get 1.
3-Shiny badges with lovely circular design, along with team picture and manager as well.
4-Shiny sticker for the star player with 2 beautiful designs. There are 2 different designs as I pulled them from 2 boxes. See pics below. Shiny blue is for the soft cover and Silver went to the hardcover version.
5-Stickers with stats included and not just DOB. Name of the league each team plays is printed as well which is a great idea.
6-Bigger sticker size 8cm x 6cm compared to the tiny Panini of 6.5 x 5
7-Bonus Lenticular cards in lucky packets. Messi, Musiala, Haaland, M'Bappe, Di Maria & 1 more. These are gorgeous, reminds me of the 2010 or 2014 Panini AXL WC card set that had 2 players on 1 card.
Only a couple of minor negatives is some blemishes on the stickers of black paint/print. Not all the players but some of them. Most on the top right hand corner of the stickers.
Another minor is there's no trophy or ball sticker but that's nothing compared to what's on offer in the album.
Overall impression for someone who's never done 2nd hand market collection is very positive and I can honestly give this album 8.5/10.
Box stats:
Box 1 : 300 stickers. 40 doubles
Box 2: 300 stickers, 152 doubles
Stickers needed to finish the hard cover album is 20.
2 stadiums, 9 shiny badges & 9 base(un known team if it's Leon or LA FC).
Enjoy the pics below. I have uploaded a video on my YT channel, please feel free to watch and enjoy. I gave my honest opinion as a collector.
